Volunteer with the Thousand Island Land Trust

2013 VOLUNTEER OPEN HOUSE

The Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT) is hosting an open house for local residents to learn more about the ways they can support land conservation through volunteering. Staff will talk briefly about upcoming volunteer-related treks and ongoing opportunities like preserve stewardship and joining the marketing street team. Light refreshments will be served. If possible, please register in advance by emailing treks@tilandtrust.org, by calling the TILT office at 686-5345, or by clicking here to sign up on the website. Walk-ins are also welcome!

We will also be hosting a VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION DAY: Friday, June 21, 5-7pm at the TILT Office. Call for more info!

Join TILT's Summer Events Team and Street Team!

We're looking for an “Events Team” and a “Street Team” of volunteers available from June through September. Spreading the word to the 1000 Islands community about the importance of land conservation and the recreational and educational uses of our preserves is a vital part of TILT's mission - that's where our teams of volunteers come in! The work will be varied, interesting and fun and volunteers can work as many hours a week as they want.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students interested in careers in marketing, public relations, event planning, non-profits and/or conservation!

General Volunteering

We always need volunteers to:

Monitor and steward trails and preserves
Build bridges, benches and other trail amenities
Host a trek or fundraising event
Lead treks or workshops
Provide transportation for treks
Help at events (take tickets, serve food, direct parking, etc)
Photograph preserves, treks and events
Admin work (stuff envelopes, make phone calls, etc)
