Discover the Birds of Grindstone Island on TILTrek

Birdwatching on a TILTrekJoin the Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT) and renowned ornithologist Gerry Smith on a hayride and walking tour to see the various birds of Grindstone Island at the height of the breeding season. Trekkers will be on the lookout for Yellow-Throated Vireos, Least Bittens, Bobolinks, warblers, Ruffed Grouse, and meadowlarks as they travel through a number of TILT’s preserves on the island. This event is part of TILTreks and TILTalks Program, a series of excursions and talks that explore living, learning, and conserving in the Thousand Islands region.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 6th at 8 am, when the party will meet at the TILT office (135 John Street, Clayton) before boating to Grindstone Island. Please be sure to wear long pants (no shorts) and boots, as the tick population is abnormally high this season. Space is limited, so drop in or call the TILT Office (686-5345), or email events@tilandtrust.org to reserve a spot or to get more information about this trek.
