Participants peer through binoculars, scopes, and cameras on Sunday’s Eagle Watch TILTrek, sponsored by the Thousand Islands Land Trust. They were watching a pair of adult Bald Eagles hunting on the St. Lawrence River off TI Park on Wellesley Island. The female Bald Eagle caught a fish and perched on a tree branch to eat, while the male Eagle perched just above her. Some of the other birds spotted during the Eagle Watch hayride around TI Park include a juvenile Bald Eagle, two Mute Swans, rafts of Golden-Eye ducks, and a Downy Woodpecker. After the hayride, participants enjoyed good company, hot chocolate, and yummy snacks at the home of Dick Greene.
