Eagle Watch with TILT!

Eagle Watchers in February

Participants peer through binoculars, scopes, and cameras on Sunday’s Eagle Watch TILTrek, sponsored by the Thousand Islands Land Trust.  They were watching a pair of adult Bald Eagles hunting on the St. Lawrence River off TI Park on Wellesley Island. The female Bald Eagle caught a fish and perched on a tree branch to eat, while the male Eagle perched just above her. Some of the other birds spotted during the Eagle Watch hayride around TI Park include a juvenile Bald Eagle, two Mute Swans, rafts of Golden-Eye ducks, and a Downy Woodpecker.  After the hayride, participants enjoyed good company, hot chocolate, and yummy snacks at the home of Dick Greene. Special thanks to Dick Greene, Gerry Smith, Erin McCarthy Brick, and Windsor and Kay Price for making this event a success. Photo by Jake Tibbles. Pictured left to right: Andrew Wood, Gerry Smith, Don Metzger, Star Carter, Erin McCarthy Brick, Jennifer Churchill, and Susie Wood.
