Gear Up For TILT BikeTreks!

Get ready to ride! Elaine Tack and the Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT) will lead a bike trek around Grindstone Island on July 10 at 9:00 am. The Grindstone trek will highlight the island’s unique history with stops at the old schoolhouses, cheese factory, and TILT preserves. The bike ride is suitable for riders of all ability levels and it is a great way to explore the island.

Participants on the Grindstone Bike Trek will need to provide their own bicycles. Helmets are strongly recommended for all riders, and are required for riders under 14 years of age under New York State law. Meet at the TILT office at 8:45 am to load up the bikes and catch the boat over to Grindstone Island. Please sign up in advance by calling TILT at 686-5345 or emailing events@tilandtrust.org.

The next Bike Trek will be on Wellesley Island on August 3 at 10:00 am, and a third Bike Trek will ride from Gananoque to Brockville on August 14 at 10:00 am. The Bike Treks with Elaine Tack are popular events every summer, and TILT is excited to feature them again this year. Sign up for all three!

These events are part of the Thousand Islands Land Trust's TILTreks & Talks series encouraging living, learning and conserving in the Thousand Islands. TILT will be offering more Treks this summer. A full schedule is available on TILT's website. For more information or a complete schedule of events, contact TILT at 686-5345 or events@tilandtrust.org.
