The Sissy Danforth Rivergate Trail is built on the old Penn Central Railroad bed in the towns of Clayton, Orleans (LaFargeville) and Theresa. It was developed using "Rails to Trails" funding.
The trail is 27 miles long and passes through farmland and forest. It is ideal for hiking, biking, and cross country skiing as well as ATV and snowmobile use. Local ATV clubs help the land trust maintain the trail.
The trail can be accessed at several different points. In Clayton, take the East Line Road to Black Creek Road. The access point is about a mile down Black Creek Road on the left. (More to come).
