Woodlands & Warblers of Grand Lakes Preserve
Gerry Smith will lead a tour of Grand Lakes Preserve, part of the Indian River Lakes Conservancy. Learn to identify birdsongs with new friends from IRLC.

June 13 ~ Friday 6-8 pm
Community Picnic at Zenda Farm
Join TILT for food and music to kick off another wonderful summer season here on the river. Meet conservation partners: SUNY ESF Thousand Islands Biological Station, NYS Zoo at Thompson Park, Ducks Unlimited, Northern New York Agricultural Historical Society, Thousand Islands Central School, Dr. Glenn Johnson. Ask bird expert Gerry Smith about the grassland birds living at Zenda. Tickets are $10 per person or $25 for the whole family.

June 29 ~ Sunday 5:30-7:30 pm
A Boating Tour of Chippewa Bay*
As a thank you to “Islander” and “Friend of the Land” supporters, please join us for a special tour through the islands of Chippewa Bay aboard the antique tour boat Morrisania. See the conserved lands and unique features of this part of the 1000 Islands. Your personal invitation will be arriving soon.

Family Bike Trek with Elaine Tack
This 3-hour (approximate) ride—gentle enough for the whole family—along the Sissy Danforth Rivergate Trail will start & finish at Bella’s in Clayton.

July 8 ~ Tuesday ~ TILTrek 6 pm
Kayaking on French Creek
Explore the fascinating and beautiful wetlands of NYS DEC French Creek Wildlife Management Area. This important waterway serves as a nursery for many species and provides clean water for the river. Kayaks are available for rent.

July 12 ~ Saturday ~ TILTalk 1 pm
Guthrie & Louise Birkhead Lecture
“Bald Eagles on the St. Lawrence”
Come learn about Bald Eagles, the subject of TILT’s first Birkhead Lecture, made possible by the vision and generosity of lifelong educators, Guthrie & Louise Birkhead. Bald eagles are the subject of a joint project for TILT and Save The River.

July 15 ~ Tuesday ~ TILTalk 7 pm
NYS Zoo—Thousand Islands Wildlife
What do a river otter, a tern and a black bear have in common? They all need healthy habitat. Friends from the NYS Zoo at Thompson Park will talk about creating and maintaining healthy habitat for St. Lawrence Valley wildlife.

Annual Loon Census with Adirondack Loon Conservation Program
Help count Loons in the Annual Loon Census! The Adirondack Loon Conservation Program will be conducting its eighth Annual Loon Census to monitor and assess long-term trends in the loon population in northern New York. If you are interested in being a census observer please contact TILT by July 4th.

Annual Summer Gathering
Elegant food and live music on Wellesley Island will make this a thoroughly delightful way to meet interesting people and support TILT. Hosted by Nellie & Steve Taylor, on Thousand Island Park. Tickets are $75 per person.

July 22 ~ Tuesday ~ Kid’s Trek 1 pm
Adventures in the 1000 Islands
Discover the wonders of nature with some great activities at Zenda Farm. Using the book I Love Dirt! as a guide, it’s a guaranteed fun time on the farm. Call for more information.

July 29 ~ Tuesday ~ TILTrek 8:30 am
Grindstone Island Bus Tour *
TILT’s now legendary tour of inland Grindstone Island will once again be led by Grindstone Island resident and know-it-all, Ken Deedy. We will join Manley Rusho on an amazing School Bus Tour of the 4th largest island in the 1000 Islands to learn about the cultural and natural history of the area . Transportation provided from the TILT office in Clayton.

Bike Trek on Wellesley Island with Elaine Tack
Beginning at T.I. Country Club’s Hacker’s Restaurant, this more rigorous 3-hour (approximate) ride will explore trails on Wellesley Island’s historic Boldt Farm. The ride will finish at Hacker’s for adult refreshments.

August 9 ~ Saturday ~ TILTrek 10 am
Canadian Bike Trek with Elaine Tack

Enjoy this 52 kilometer ride from Gananoque to Brockville along the Thousand Islands Parkway. Meet in Gananoque. Transportation is provided back to your car from Brockville.

August 12 ~ Tuesday ~ TILTrek 9 am
Eagle Wings Tern Project Grid Removal

Breeding season for the Common tern has finished. Come help TILT and Save The River remove the protective grid from the Eagle Wings Preserve. Learn how this method protects this ideal tern breeding ground from seagull disruption and predation. Transportation will be provided from Clayton.

August 19 ~ Tuesday ~ Kid’s Trek 1 pm

Trail Maintenance Day

Help steward of one of TILT’s trails. Wear gloves, bring tools if you have them and spend an enjoyable afternoon in the woods tending and caring for a preserve.
