Grindstone Island Nature Trail

Grindstone Island Nature Trail is a self guided nature trail at the foot (down river, east end) of Grindstone Island.  It  links Grindstone Island Meadow Preserve and Songbird Forest with Canoe Point and Picnic Point State Parks.

Macsherry Trail at Crooked Creek

Macsherry Trail at Crooked Creek Preserve is also a self guided nature trail that provides three miles of hiking, skiing or other non-motorized recreation, along with 10 interpretive stations.   The trail is closed to recreation during hunting season.

Potter’s Beach

Potter’s Beach ,at the head (up river, west end) of Grindstone Island, is the premiere natural sand beach of the Thousand Islands, used by dozens of boaters on summer weekends.

Sissy Danforth Rivergate Trail

The Sissy Danforth Rivergate Trail is a multi-use recreational trail enjoyed by mountain bikers and hikers, and even moreso by snowmobilers and ATV riders.   Using an abandoned railroad bed the trail links Philadelphia, Theresa and Clayton, New York.
