Kids are Getting WILD Outdoors on Wednesdays with TILT

Families continue to embrace the outdoors in the Thousand Islands and show us how important time spent in nature is. And once again during the school year, our vibrant environmental education program, Wild Wednesdays provided the opportunity for families to once again join TILT for an afterschool adventure out on the land. Designed for the entire family these programs as act as recreational gateways that connect people to the land and highlight the many ways that everyone can enjoy free access to the outdoors, right in their own neighborhood.

Participants recently took a stroll along the Otter Creek Trail to investigate what’s Boo and what’s false about some of Halloween’s most misunderstood creepy creatures! And at the Winter Adaptation Exploration Walk, participants trudged along a snowy trail at the Redwood Hill Preserve to learn all about the ways that animals are the winter survival champions.

These free programs are made possible by the support of the Ferguson Foundation, the Fresh Sound Foundation, and the RBC Foundation - USA.  Each month features a fun nature learning activity at a different TILT Preserve or partner location. With much needed interaction with the natural world, we foster the discovery of the mysteries of nature and work to ensures that conservation of open space remains a valuable message and objective for the land stewards of tomorrow.
