More Than 40 Participants Join TILT’s Birds of a Feather Trek at Otter Creek Preserve

More than 40 participants joined the Thousand Islands Land Trust at Otter Creek Preserve for the Birds of a Feather Trek, where local birding expert Dan Miller guided attendees through the Preserve to spot and identify a variety of bird species found throughout the Thousand Islands region.

The Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT) welcomed more than 40 participants to Otter Creek Preserve on Saturday for its Birds of a Feather Trek, a guided birding adventure led by local birding experts Dan and Lynn Miller.

Participants of all ages gathered to explore the Preserve’s trails while learning how to spot and identify a variety of bird species found throughout the area. From colorful songbirds hidden among the trees to waterfowl along the shoreline, attendees had the opportunity to experience the rich birdlife and natural beauty that make Otter Creek Preserve a favorite destination for outdoor recreation and environmental education.

Throughout the morning, Dan and Lynn Miller shared bird identification tips, information about local habitats, and insights into the behaviors of many species commonly found in the Thousand Islands region. The family-friendly trek encouraged participants to slow down, observe the natural world, and deepen their connection to the outdoors.
