For four decades, the Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT) has been dedicated to protecting the stunning landscapes that make the Thousand Islands so special.
Since 1985, we’ve worked with landowners and communities to conserve the natural beauty of the region through land acquisitions, conservation easements, and by creating accessible public spaces for all to enjoy.
Today, TILT safeguards over 14,500 acres of diverse ecosystems–from vibrant wetlands to lush woodlands and expansive grasslands.
Our conservation efforts include 10 Signature Preserves, featuring 22 miles of scenic trails open year-round.
These spaces are yours to explore, offering countless opportunities to connect with nature. At TILT, we believe in fostering a love for the land. Our popular TILTreks and KidsTreks invite participants of all ages to discover the outdoors, learn about the region’s rich biodiversity, and become stewards of the environment. As a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, TILT is driven by its mission to conserve land for generations to come.
Our commitment to excellence has been recognized with national accreditation by the Land Trust Alliance, first in 2009, and again in 2014 and 2019. Explore our most recent financials on Candid.
