The Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT) launched its 2026 Conservation Connections program season on Friday, April 17 at the TILT Discovery Center: Gateway to the Outdoors at 135 John Street, welcoming a homeschool group for an introductory experience focused on the importance of the lands and waters that make up the Thousand Islands. Led by Community Engagement Coordinator Delaney McIlrath, participants explored how local conservation work helps sustain healthy ecosystems and strengthen connections between people and place. The program then moved outdoors to Zenda Farms Preserve, where students engaged directly with the landscape, observing habitats and building a deeper understanding of ecological relationships and land stewardship through guided, place-based exploration on the Preserve.
